Spring Beard 2022
Once a year I look a little ‘different’ at the Locally Yours Market… Sat 3 Sept was World Beard Day and since it’s Spring it has become a tradition to Bloom my Beard for the occasion. Absolutely no Photoshop was used in the creation of this beard; however, the beard was lightly assaulted by a glue gun!

Smoked Apricot “Braaibroodjie” Mustard Review
It took a long time to MUSTER the courage to ask her to the braai… She is like our country; sweet, sour, spicy, bold, definitely smoky. She adds flavour and brings others forward; a generous ubuntu spirit. She is humble but complex and she will ROCK your braaibroodjie world!

This one is for our country, for heritage, it’s an ode to all the men & women around the fire, the blessing of a braai culture under a gorgeous South African sky.
There you go The Bearded Gin Guy, this review is inspired by you boet!

Honey mustard in the making… golden goodness.
As I gaze down at the golden mixture swirling in my blender, I can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude towards the tiny creatures that made it all possible. Bees, with their tireless efforts and intricate dance language, are responsible for pollinating more than one-third of the world’s crops. Yet, despite their vital role in our ecosystem, bees face numerous threats to their survival, from habitat loss to pesticide exposure. That’s why World Bee Day, celebrated on May 20th every year, is so important – it’s a chance to raise awareness about the importance of these buzzing pollinators and the urgent need to protect them. And what better way to honor the humble honeybee than by using their sweet nectar to create delicious, nutritious dishes? At our kitchen, we take pride in using only raw, local honey in our recipes, not just because it tastes better, but because it supports the local beekeepers who work tirelessly to care for their hives. So today, as we celebrate World Bee Day, let’s raise a spoonful of golden goodness to these incredible insects and all they do for our planet.
